GMA Gets Second Term

So now it's over, Congress is set to declare this week that GMA has won the presidency by about a million over erstwhile actor Fernando Poe Jr. Somehow, we ARE better off.

Of course the sore losers will continue to "destabilize" the government, because that's just the Filipino thing to do, you know, civil disobedience and that People Power thing. At least the government has someone to blame -- others -- if they can't get things going this time around. Better than scattering spikes on EDSA.

I am a strong believer in democracy but I totally supported the thought of cheating during the elections at any cost para di manalo si FPJ. Everytime I think about that, mas na sa sad ako sa Pinas.

Well Ramos' people actually cheated their way to winning over Miram Defensor Santiago's campaign.

I know this for a fact since I have met some of the vote fixers in Mindanao.

Yes Miriam really won. You may have doubts if Miram's people complain about it. But when you are sitting in a dinner that proceeded president Ramos' speech where his supporters are talking about how they bought votes, all doubts disappear.

So I ask one of these guys a point blank question. "So did Miriam really win." He answers "Yes, most probably."

Whether you like him or not, Ramos' term was actually one of the most economically and politically stable since Marcos.

So I'm glad they cheated.

I also wish someone cheated so that Erap lost during his time. What I hear is that the margin was just too big to cheat over Erap.

Well i just want to say that when Ramos cheated Santiago in 1992, he cheated the filipino people. I hope the case Santiago VS Ramos in the PET should never be dismissed on such a flimsy ground which has nothing to do with reality. The filipinos want the truth. We can hear news from every corner of the globe yet we don't even know who is the duly elected president of the Philippines.
